Growing Our Impact Through Meaningful Support

While it is our staff serving day in and day out that make a direct difference in our client’s lives, it is the support from our community and other organizations that makes it possible to grow our impact within our programs and beyond.

We are excited to announce that we have received a grant from the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York’s Affordable Housing Program (AHP) to do just that. The AHP’s awards are designed to address local housing needs as well as drive community development, and we are grateful for the impact this grant will have on our new family rental project, Gerard’s Riverview in Bordentown Township, Burlington County. Thanks to their generosity, we are another step closer to transforming under-utilized vacant land into a community asset benefiting families in an area with a high demand for quality rental housing. Gerard’s Riverview will consist of 66 units, with units reserved for individuals or families experiencing homelessness, and others reserved for very low income families or individuals. We will also be able to provide social services to all residents through a variety of counseling and wellness programs.

Our Home For The Brave is also receiving valuable support from longtime partner The Patriot Fund, an organization dedicated to helping organizations that make a substantial impact on the lives of veterans. Patriot Fund Cofounder and Vice President Joe Caruso who is also President/CEO of OmniFirst Group, and Co-Owner and Managing Partner of the Trenton Thunder, stopped by to present this generous grant along with Executive Board Member Robert Curley, South Jersey / Coastal New Jersey Market President of TD Bank. Home For The Brave is the only low demand veterans housing program in the state, and has 30 beds for single, male veterans. Residents are able to stay up to two years while working on recovery, employment and independent living skills. Many residents move into permanent housing after their stay at Home For The Brave, making the shelter an important step in their journey to a self-fulfilled, independent life. With this support, we can continue providing dynamic programming and support that meets the unique needs of our veteran clients.
