Collingswood, N.J. – On Monday, November 1, Volunteers of America Delaware Valley (VOADV) officially launched their 10th Anniversary Adopt A Family program. Adopt A Family’s mission is to connect Delaware Valley families with donors that can help make the holiday season a little brighter by providing toys, food and other basic necessities for those in need of assistance. In celebration of its 10th anniversary, VOADV plans to make the holiday season brighter by connecting over 1,000 families with generous donors.
“The holidays aren’t just about toys – they’re about giving hope and making holiday wishes come true for our neighbors in need,” says Daniel L. Lombardo, President/CEO of VOADV. “Now in our 10th year, Adopt A Family has grown far past what we ever imagined. Thanks to the generosity of our community, the number of local families we are able to support will continue to grow as we look toward the future of Adopt A Family.”
Since 2011, VOADV’s Adopt A Family program has provided holiday gifts, meals, and more to vulnerable families and children all around the Delaware Valley – from Southern and Central New Jersey to Philadelphia and the surrounding counties – through the support of individual donors, civic and religious organizations, community programs and corporate partners.
This year, participation in Adopt A Family is easier and more personalized than ever before with the launch of our new online matching tool, giving donors the ability to view and select their family based on the size and details of the family they would like to adopt, and the addition of satellite gift drop-off locations in Atlantic City, Camden and Trenton.
“We’re so excited about the growth and evolution of Adopt A Family as we celebrate our 10th Anniversary. Our success all these years was made possible by the overwhelming support of local donors and sponsors alike,” says Alexis Degan, Director of Philanthropic Giving at VOADV. “This year, we’ve made the process of adopting and donating easier and more customizable than ever, with multiple ways to give based on donor’s individual wishes.”
The Adopt A Family program is made possible through the support of our generous corporate donors, strategic partnerships with local businesses and individual sponsors alike. Our annual Radiothon in partnership with 97.5 BEN FM and 6ABC will take place in mid-December. We are also grateful for the support of local businesses like Office Basics, Trammell Crow Company, Connor Strong & Buckelew, Taylor Wiseman & Taylor, Comcast, Cathedral Kitchen, Sir Speedy, Ravenwood Botanicals and PopJoy & Kelly, LLC and more who have already committed their support for 2021.
