Volunteers of America Delaware Valley Announces Return of Mardi Bras & Briefs In 2026

(COLLINGSWOOD, NJ) – Volunteers of America Delaware Valley (VOADV) will host the second annual Mardi Bras + Briefs event on February 17, 2026 at Double Nickel Brewing Company. It will be a night of Fat Tuesday fun for the community – complete with games, food and festivity – while collecting new, in-package underwear, the most requested essential for VOADV clients in need.

“Mardi Bras + Briefs is both a celebration, and a chance for our community to make a real difference,” said Daniel L. Lombardo, VOADV President and CEO. “We’re looking forward to building on the incredible success of last year, raising even more awareness and resources for those we serve. Together, we can help ensure that every client who turns to us has access to this basic but crucial necessity, providing comfort, dignity and hope.”

Mardi Bras + Briefs 2025 resulted in the donation of over 1,000 pairs of underwear, which became an invaluable resource for VOADV clients throughout the year. These items supported individuals entering emergency shelters, residents of transitional housing programs and families rebuilding their lives after crisis. Each contribution helped restore confidence and provided an essential item that many of us take for granted – reminding clients that their community cares.

The Mardi Gras celebration will once again feature bead toss games, mask decorating for kids, authentic Mardi Gras beads and traditional New Orleans King Cake. Attendees will also compete for the honor of being crowned the King or Queen of Mardi Gras by contributing the most packs of underwear.

Thank you to Double Nickel Brewing Company for hosting Mardi Bras + Briefs in both 2025 and 2026, and for your continued support and generosity. Additional event details will be announced on VOADV’s social media shortly.
