For many people, the holiday season is defined by family gatherings, picking out the perfect gift for a loved one, and seeing the joy on a child’s face on Christmas morning. However, there are hundreds of local parents who want to create that same magical feeling for their children but struggle to do so.
That is where the Adopt A Family program comes in. Our mission is to connect local families with donors that can help make the holiday season a little brighter by providing toys, food and other basic necessities. This year for our 10th Anniversary we set the record-breaking goal of supporting 1,000 local families. Sure enough, the giving spirit won out, and that goal was met. Over 800 individual donors, civic and religious organizations, community programs and corporate partners took the time to shop for, wrap and drop off gifts for a family in need. Others contributed through direct donations, or by shopping off of our Amazon Wish List. By Christmas Eve, over 3,000 individuals were able to wake up to a magical holiday morning.
None of it would have been possible without the support of our sponsors, as their generosity allows the program to grow into the future. The holidays aren’t just about giving toys – they’re about giving hope – and we’re already looking forward to making more holiday wishes come true again in 2022.
