Homewarming Kits

Homewarming Kits help our clients build the next chapter of their lives

The idea for Homewarming Kits began with former Home for the Brave client, Fred Silhol. Volunteers of America Delaware Valley had secured Fred an apartment after his time in our program, but he lacked many of the essentials that all new renters need starting out. Fred joked that he needed someone to “throw him a bridal shower” to help stock his new place. With that, the idea of the Homewarming Kit was born.

Volunteers of America has since provided hundreds of kits to people we assist with housing and other services. Each year we help hundreds of our clients find permanent housing, and each of them could use a Homewarming Kit to begin their new lives. Your donation can help us ensure that every person who is supported into housing through Volunteers of America Delaware Valley gets the head start they deserve to make their new house a home.
