On June 30, 2026, the Volunteers of America Delaware Valley Navigational Resource Center in Camden County hosted its monthly Warrant Recall Event, continuing its commitment to removing barriers that prevent individuals from achieving stability and self-sufficiency. Through the collaborative efforts of Volunteers of America Delaware Valley, the Camden County Courts, and dedicated community partners, the event provided participants with meaningful opportunities to address legal issues, and connect with community resources that they may not know exist.
A total of 17 participants attended the event seeking assistance with outstanding warrants. Thanks to the partnership with the Camden County Courts, all 17 participants successfully had their warrants recalled and were provided with new court dates. This outcome allowed each participant to avoid the immediate consequences of active warrants while giving them an opportunity to resolve their legal matters through the proper court process.
The event also provided legal support for individuals seeking to clear their criminal records. Four participants requested assistance with the expungement process, and two participants were able to begin the process of having their records expunged. This important first step can significantly improve access to employment, housing, education, and other opportunities that may have previously been unavailable because of a criminal record.
In addition to legal services, the event connected participants with vital healthcare resources. Two participants who were uninsured met with a representative from UnitedHealthcare, one of the Resource Center’s valued community partners. Both individuals completed applications for health insurance and were approved for medical coverage during the event. Access to health insurance will provide these participants with essential medical care and resources that can improve their overall health and long-term well-being.
This month’s Warrant Recall Event demonstrates the power of collaboration between community organizations, the judicial system, and local service providers. By addressing legal barriers, increasing access to healthcare, and connecting participants with life-changing resources, the Volunteers of America Delaware Valley Navigational Resource Center in Camden County continues to empower individuals to take positive steps toward stability, accountability, and long-term success. Every warrant recalled, every expungement initiated, and every participant connected to healthcare represents another opportunity for someone to rebuild their life and move forward with hope.
