OUR CLIENTS HELP KEEP CAMDEN GREEN Volunteers of America Delaware Valley recently partnered with the New Jersey State Parole Board and the New Jersey Tree Foundation to help beautify Camden NJ.About 25 parolees helped plant 30 flowering and shade trees along the 1400 block of Belleview Avenue in the city’s Parkside neighborhood on April 18. The parolees participated as volunteers, taking advantage of the opportunity to beautify a community as they work to successfully reenter society. They are served by residential reentry programs operated by Volunteers of America Delaware Valley. The New Jersey Tree Foundation donated the trees, including sargent cherries (Prunus sargentii), Norwegian sunset maples (Acer truncatum), dogwoods (Cornus florida), and eastern redbuds (Cercis canadensis). |
