Adopt a Family
Collingswood, NJ – Volunteers of America Delaware Valley needs the community’s help in giving joy this holiday season to families in need. With the holiday season in full swing and just in time for Black Friday, individuals and businesses can adopt a family, providing them with toys, winter clothing and food.
Sponsored by Holman Automotive and Ben FM 97.5, Volunteers of America Delaware Valley has adopted just over 400 families from programs within the organization, partnerships with other non profit organizations, and individuals. A number of families our generously adopted by Cooper University Hospital, who gives joy to our clients every year. But we still need your help. About 250 families have already been adopted thus far; however there are 160 families that still need a helping hand. Many of these families consist of struggling single mothers with 1, 2 or more children per household. Individuals and companies can give these families the gift of joy through either direct adoption or with a cash donation.
Those who adopt a family directly will choose the family based on profiles and will be sent a wish list by Volunteers of America Delaware Valley. For those choosing to give a cash donation, your donation will be combined with other donations to provide clothes, toys and food.
“Our Adopt A Family campaign gives families in need a chance to have a wonderful holiday,” says Daniel Lombardo, Volunteers of America Delaware Valley President and CEO, “VOADV’s mission is to give hope and make a difference, and that’s what we’re doing.”
Donations can be sent to or dropped off at the Volunteers of America Delaware Valley main offices at 235 White Horse Pike, Collingswood. Cash donations can be either mailed or given online.
