CORRECTIONS PROGRAMS GAIN ACCREDITATION

The Commission for Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) has awarded  three-year accreditation to all five programs in the corrections services division of Volunteers of America Delaware Valley.

The accreditation followed an on-site survey conducted over several days in early October. A team from CARF visited Hope Hall, Garrett House, Fletcher House, PROMISE and the Community Resource Center, evaluating operations from top to bottom.

“CARF accreditation standards are developed by people who work in the field—by our peers. So we are very pleased to be awarded the three-year accreditation,” said Antionett Mahan-Wood, Director of Quality Assurance for Volunteers of America Delaware Valley.

Mahan-Wood said the CARF process has been “a great team-building opportunity” that engaged the entire staff. It also dovetails with our ongoing Continuous Quality Improvement program.  And the ultimate goal, according to Mahan-Wood, is agency-wide accreditation.
