VOLUNTEERS OF AMERICA DELAWARE VALLEY SETS SIGHTS ON COLLECTING 1,000 BACKPACKS FOR KIDS IN NEED
Collingswood, NJ – Volunteers of America Delaware Valley is once again looking for support from the community for its Operation Backpack Campaign. Now in its sixth year, this year’s Operation Backpack should prove to be the largest to date. The goal is to collect 1,000 backpacks and raise $10,000 in an effort to help kids in need start the school year off on the right foot. Modell’s Sporting Goods and International Sports, Skating and Fun Centers will support Operation Backpack by utilizing their South Jersey locations as drop off points for new backpacks and school supplies.

VOLUNTEERS OF AMERICA DELAWARE VALLEY ANNOUNCES NEW BOARD OF DIRECTORS CHAIR AND OFFICERS
Collingswood, NJ – At the final board meeting of the fiscal year held on Wednesday, June 29th, Volunteers of America Delaware Valley voted in new board officers including Maury Reiter, Esq as its new board chair. Mr. Reiter replaces Rick Mroz who held the position for the past two years.

Volunteers of America Delaware Valley Holds Storybook Luncheon to Kickoff Operation Backpack
Camden, NJ (June 16, 2011) – On Saturday, June 18, Modell’s Sporting Goods will help Volunteers of America Delaware Valley kick off its annual Operation Backpack school supply drive at our annual Storybook Luncheon. Camden, NJ (May 13, 2011) – On Saturday, May 21, Major Leaguers Ryan Howard and Jimmy Rollins of the Philadelphia Phillies and high school students from Philadelphia-area Action Teams will join together for a morning of fun and community service by landscaping and creating a mural at Volunteers of America Delaware Valley’s Addiction Treatment Program, located at 510 Liberty Street in Camden.

Collingswood, NJ – Modell’s Sporting Goods will support Operation Backpack by utilizing five of their South Jersey stores as drop off locations for new backpacks and school supplies starting this Wednesday, August 25th and running through Sunday, August 29th. On Thursday August 26th from 12:00 p.m. until 12:30 p.m. Dajuan Wagner will make an appearance at the Modell’s in the Cherry Hill Mall (2000 Route 38, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034) to launch the partnership, meet and greet donors, and accept backpacks.
